Gotham Knights preorders are now live, letting players grab the version of the game they want before tackling crime on the streets of Gotham City.
Developed by WB Montreal and published by WB Games, Gotham Knights is the next big DC game, tasking players with uniting the Bat Family in a world where Batman has seemingly died. Different villains are on the rise, and the mysterious Court of Owls is moving in the shadows.
Gotham Knights is scheduled to be released on Oct. 25, 2022, and preorders are available now. As one of the big Xbox games coming up in the second half of 2022, there are different versions of the game available for preorder right now. These editions include distinct bonuses, which we've broken down below, so you know what you're buying and where to buy it.
Gotham Knights preorder: Can I buy it on PS4 or Xbox One?
Despite originally being announced as a cross-generation game, Gotham Knights is no longer available for Xbox One or PS4. This news was shared on May 10, 2022, when the developers confirmed that the last-generation versions of the game were being dropped to provide a better overall experience.
Being built only for current-generation consoles means the developers can build a less-compromised experience, taking advantage of the ultra-fast internal SSDs and improved CPUs to create a more technically impressive game.
This means if you want to preorder Gotham Knights, you'll need to have an Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5, or capable PC.
Gotham Knights preorder: What you get for preordering
There are three versions of Gotham Knights available for preorder: The Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector's Edition. If you preorder any copy of Gotham Knights, including the Standard Edition of the game, you'll get the 233 Kustom Bat-Cycle Skin. This bike skin is named after the design's first appearance in Detective Comics #223. Note that while the four characters of Gotham Knights have distinct playstyles, all four characters can use the Bat-Cycle to get around Gotham City.
The Standard Edition of Gotham Knights is $70 on consoles and $60 on PC. The Deluxe Edition is $90 on consoles and $80 on PC. Finally, the Collector's Edition is $300 on consoles and $290 on PC. For whatever reason, the PC version is $10 cheaper than the console versions, so if you have multiple platforms including a capable PC, consider that when making your decision.
You should also keep in mind that crossplay isn't supported right now. As such, if you intend to play through the game with a friend at some point, then you'll want to make sure you both grab Gotham Knights on the same platform.
