Ahead of Season 2, dive into the latest event pass and grab all the sleek new cosmetics.
Halo Infinite multiplayer continues to swap in new events, each with different event passes that bring free new cosmetic rewards for partaking players. These events stay active for a bit and then return later, so what is active at a time changes from month to month. The latest event is Halo Infinite Tactical Ops, which also introduces a new playlist for more hardcore fans.
Here's everything we know about Halo Infinite's Tactical Ops event, including its start and end date, rewards list, and more.
Halo Infinite Tactical Ops start date and time
Tactical Ops doesn't have an official exact date right now, but we can make a very educated guess for when this event is coming to Halo Infinite multiplayer. Leakers indicate that the event is slated to begin on March 8, 2022. Meanwhile, in an update for Halo Infinite Season 2 on March 4, 343 Industries head of creative Joseph Staten confirmed that the event would begin the next week.
As such, it seems overwhelmingly likely that the rumored March 8 start date is accurate. If this is the case, the event can safely be expected to run through March 21.
What is Halo Infinite Tactical Ops?
Much like the Fracture: Tenrai and Winter Contingency events, Halo Infinite Tactical Ops is a limited-time free in-game event. While Fracture events focus on alternate reality cosmetics that aren't canon, Tactical Ops is pretty self-explanatory, being themed after special operatives and cutting-edge equipment. As such, a lot of the cosmetics that are being brought in with Halo Infinite Tactical Ops are Mark VII core-focused rewards.
Like the past events, Tactical Ops brings a unique event pass, which is essentially a miniature Battle Pass that players don't have to buy. Players will have the opportunity to grab these rewards by playing a couple of matches per day that the event is available. It is, however, important to keep in mind that the scale of every event isn't exactly the same, so the number of rewards available to earn may not always be as high as in prior events.
Does Halo Infinite Tactical Ops have new content?
Not every seasonal event in Halo Infinite brings new playable content, but fortunately, Tactical Ops does. With this event, there'll be a new Tactical Slayer mode, which is based on modes previously referred to as SWAT in past Halo titles. Generally, these modes are available for the duration of the event, but have a chance to be added to the roster in a permanent fashion if player feedback to 343 Industries clearly indicates the mode has been well received. This previously happened with the wild Fiesta playlist.
Halo Infinite Tactical Ops rewards list
As mentioned above, a lot of the rewards in Halo Infinite Tactical Ops are meant for the Mark VII core. This kind of mid-season event expands the roster of Halo Infinite armor, coatings and other customization options available. Currently, the following rewards have been leaked:
Unlock | Item Type |
---|---|
Spartan Stance (Tier 1) | Stance |
Purple Armor Visor (Tier 2) | Visor |
Emile's Helmet (Tier 3) | Weapon Charm |
Crossing Swords (Tier 4) | Backdrop |
Mark V Zeta (Tier 5) | Helmet |
Mark VII Chest Attachment (Tier 6) | Armor Piece |
Mark VII Hip Attachment (Tier 7) | Armor Piece |
Mark VII Gloves (Tier 8) | Armor Piece |
Mark VII Orange & Silver (Tier 9) | Armor Coating |
Mark V Zeta Helmet Attachment (Tier 10) | Armor Piece |
Naturally, we'll be updating this as the full list of official rewards is revealed.
