After building and tinkering with PCs for decades, we know what it takes to truly enjoy games on PC. We've tested various GPU SKUs extensively and can recommend some option for playing The Division 2.
The ZOTAC NVIDIA GRTX 2060 is the best GPU you can buy for The Division 2 in terms of performance and so you don't completely destroy your budget.
Best GPU
NVIDIA RTX 2060
Next-gen PC gaming
The GPU is the most important component of any gaming PC and the RTX 2060 takes the great performance of the GTX 1070 and throws in the new architecture, ray tracing, and DLSS support.
Who should buy this GPU?
Anyone looking to enjoy The Division 2 and other major PC titles on their gaming rig should look at the RTX 2060 as the new mid-tier GPU. It offers solid levels of performance while also future-proofing your PC for games for years to come.
Is it a good time to buy this GPU?
Now is a great time to buy this GPU. NVIDIA released the new RTX 20-series — which this card is part of — in 2018. We don't expect successor SKUs to be released for some time, and even then this powerful GPU will still be able to power through demanding games at medium to high visual settings.
Reasons to buy
- Great performance
- Ray tracing and DLSS
- New Turing architecture
Reasons not to buy
- Rather expensive
Turing performance at a decent price
New NVIDIA GPUs are expensive. Still, the new RTX 2060 is actually priced slightly lower than the last-gen GTX 1070, which this card matches in performance. That extra money does unlock new levels of performance and the RTX 2060 even comes rocking the new ray tracing and Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). It's an amazing entry-level 20-series GPU.
Entry-level GPU with amazing performance.
This GPU is actually the most affordable card you can buy that's part of the new NVIDIA 20-series RTX line-up. What makes the Turing architecture an interesting leap forward is how the RTX 2060 isn't just faster than the GTX 1060, but also the GTX 1070 too.
When buying a GPU, it's usually better to spend as much as you can, which should save you in the long run when it comes to playing newer games in the coming years. Settling with a less powerful card to save money in the short term may require you to replace the GPU with a better model at a later date.
This is especially important when it comes to ray tracing and DLSS. Not many games support these features right now, but more definitely will in the future.
Picking up an RTX 2060 now would allow you to enjoy PC gaming without issue for many years.
Alternatives to the ZOTAC NVIDIA RTX 2060
This RTX 2060 is the GPU you should buy to play The Division 2, but if you have a tighter budget or wish to purchase a GPU that will hold out for longer, we rounded up some excellent alternatives.
Runner-up
EVGA NVIDIA RTX 2070
Next step up in gaming
While priced considerably higher than the RTX 2060, the RTX 2070 does come rocking more CUDA cores and performance as a whole. It's simply a much better card and can even go up against a last-gen GTX 1080, making it worth considering for The Division 2.
Should you be looking to upgrade from a GTX 900 series card, the RTX 2070 is a brilliant choice. There's even onboard RGB lighting to create quite the light show and EVGA offers excellent post-purchase support with a 3-year warranty.
Best of Turing
EVGA NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti
When money is no concern
You likely won't need the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti unless you're gaming at 4K, but it'll be nice to have if you can spare the cash to cover the price.
You should only consider the RTX 2080 Ti if you plan on gaming at 4K and turning everything up to maximum settings. There's also the factor of cost and this GPU requires a considerable lump sum. Still, the RTX 2080 Ti comes with plenty of bragging rights.
Bottom line
To play The Division 2 on PC, you'll need a decent processor and GPU combo, but if you really want to enjoy the game ZOTAC's NVIDIA RTX 2060 is the best option for those with some budget to spare.
