Do you want to try Dynamic Lock on Windows 10, but the Settings app won't let you connect your phone? Try this workaround to connect your Bluetooth device and complete the setup. Microsoft recently rolled out Windows 10 build 15031 to the Fast ring as a minor update part of the Creators Update. Among the new changes, the company officially introduced Dynamic Lock, which is a security feature that allows Windows 10 to automatically lock your device based on the proximity of your phone paired using Bluetooth. The idea is simple if your phone is no longer near your computer, Windows 10 waits 30 seconds, and then turn off the display and locks your PC. Although Dynamic Lock is available now for testing, a bug in the Settings app is not letting users access the Devices page to pair their phones and complete the setup. Microsoft is aware of the issue, and it's planning to have this problem fixed probably in the next flight. However, you can still test the security feature on Windows 10 ...

Want to use custom DNS settings on Windows 10? In this guide, we show you how. Usually, when you subscribe to an internet connection, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will provide the necessary networking settings, including the DNS addresses, that you can use to quickly load websites, download files and use online services. However, sometimes the DNS servers are slow responding to requests, or they just are not reliable. Changing your default settings can improve your internet browsing experience. What is DNS? DNS stands for "Domain Name System," and it's the service that makes it possible for you to open a web browser, type a domain name and load your favorite websites. All computers connected to the internet have IP addresses that enable them to talk to each other. However, we're not computers, and IP addresses (137.46.78.189) are hard to remember. DNS provides a way to translate friendly domain names (windowscentral.com) into IP addresses that computers can understand. W...

How do I use a proxy with Microsoft Edge? In a time of restrictions and eroding privacy, many people are using a proxy while they browse the internet. A proxy is essentially a secondary hub that your internet traffic is pushed through. Instead of you typing an address into your browser and having the page immediately come back, your internet request will be first sent to the proxy. The proxy then sends it out using an IP that's different from yours. This process can be used to avoid geo-restrictions and keep a bit more anonymity while you browse the internet. Keep in mind that this is not a VPN, and it does not encrypt your web traffic. If you're ready to start browsing the internet through a proxy, here's how to set everything up in Microsoft Edge for Windows 10. The four major carriers in the U.S. don't necessarily offer Windows phones (though phones that run Microsoft's OS work on some of their networks), but they all offer unlimited data plans. Whether you're a Microsoft diehard who packs a Windows phone, or an iPhone- or Android-toting Windows fan, here's how to find the best unlimited data plan for you. With Verizon bringing back an unlimited data plan, the big four networks in the United States (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon) all carry an unlimited data plan now. That's important for power users as well as anyone who uses their mobile broadband internet as their sole way to stay in touch or for entertainment. The cost of data overages means that unlimited data is a must for many of us. But just because everyone offers unlimited data doesn't mean that all plans are equal. Pricing is important as are "extras" like tethering and the hidden data cap that pushes you back to slower 3G speeds when you reach it. And of course, zero...
